Lemon Print Tank
It's the first day of summer! Okay, well some people were saying it was yesterday, but I'm celebrating it today here on Blushful Belle with all of you! :) Yesterday we had record breaking temps in Phoenix--119! It was definitely a bit painful being outside and you feel like your skin is melting at times, but I would rather have a dry heat over humidity any day of the week! Besides, my favorite time of year is coming up in just a few weeks--monsoon season!
When the monsoons start making their way into the valley, I get so excited about the rain that pours and pours, along with all the lightning and thunder. It can be a little scary, especially at night, but there's really nothing like the smell of desert rain, and I love it! It reminds me of being a kid and watching the rain come down outside my window, flooding our street, making me wish I had a canoe like Pocahontas so I could sail "just around the riverbend!"
One of my other favorite things about summer (and no, it's not the heat!) is wearing fun prints and bright colors, like this adorable lemon tank! When I first saw it in the J. Crew catalogue last month I just knew I had to have it. It came with a matching cardigan in the same print, but since I knew I wouldn't be wearing the cardigan until the fall months, it didn't make much sense to me to buy the set. I love the tank on it's own, and if needed I could always throw a denim jacket over it and call it a day.
I'm still working on upping my shorts game, I actually only own one pair of denim shorts (gasp!) if you can believe it. And they are from American Eagle (double gasp!) and I've had them since I was in high school (triple...okay Chantelle, get it together girl!!!). Yeah I know, it's pretty sad, but I just seem to have a hard time finding a pair I like! The rise, wash, distressing, length, etc. all have to be just right. You can call me Goldie Locks. But don't worry, once I solve this little dilemma (& I hope I do it fast!) you'll be the first to know :)
