Summer Sandal Roundup

We’re officially one month into summer and the weather isn’t cooling down anytime soon. Here in Phoenix we always like to start the party a couple months early and make it last all the way through September! This summer is so different than I’m sure any of us ever expected and it’s been hard for me to come to grips with the fact that we won’t be going on a vacation anytime soon. Freddy and I have been trying to find creative ways to enjoy ourselves since we have no plans to go anywhere, which is especially difficult when it’s 112 and the last thing you want to do is be outside. We started a fun tradition last month called Sammy Saturday, where we get to-go sandwiches on Saturdays from Jimmy John’s, Which Wich, or Firehouse Subs and eat them at home. It’s nothing extravagant or fancy but that’s the best part! Iit’s something we look forward to every week and a little treat for ourselves.

The rest of our weekends involve lots of pool time at my mom’s house which is our favorite way to relax. We don’t last very long outside, maybe a couple hours at most, but being in the water helps us unwind before we head into a new work week. When I’m not in the pool or hanging out at home, you’ll always find me wearing a pair of sandals. I wish that our weather allowed for a cute pair of sneakers, but when it’s so hot and humid that’s the last thing I can think about wearing! The silver lining is that sandals can be worn practically year-round here, so I’m more inclined to buy several pairs knowing that I’ll get a lot of use out of them.

I’ve really been leaning into boho style recently and exploring different shoes and accessories that compliment that aesthetic. I’ve been wearing these lace-up sandals a lot lately and love that they pair back to dresses, skirts, and shorts! I’ve also worn them with skinny jeans, but you may need to roll up the hem to let the lace-up straps show. I also recently bought these platform sandals that are a bit chunkier and add more texture. Some outfits call for a more delicate shoe, while others work well with a more substantial shoe, like the platform style. When I’m poolside or running to the grocery store, a classic pair of flip flops are my go-to! I wear this pair when I’m at the pool since they’re waterproof, and this is my favorite everyday style that can be dressed up or down. You can shop more of my favorite styles below :) Which sandal style is your fave? Let me know in the comments! xo
