A Casual, Family Dinner Look

It's been so nice to relax and unwind after we got home from an amazing 4 days in Chicago. For some reason I was feeling exhausted and unable to catch up on sleep for a good week after we got back. I'm not sure if it was due to the time change or just because we had been so busy walking around every day. You know those moments when you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation? Both hands in the air, that was how I was feeling! Needless to say I'm feeling so much more rested now, and time with family has really helped with that.

I had to work on Father's Day, so Freddy and I celebrated my dad on Monday and spent some time with him! That time spent may have included some naps from my dad and Freddy...they both work hard and I guess they just needed some rest! But we got to enjoy a nice dinner all together at my parents house, which involved one of my dad's favorite meals, Beef Stroganoff. I was a very picky eater as a kid, and whenever I saw them eating it I always thought it looked so weird, so my mom just made pasta with butter for me (basically what I lived on growing up--wouldn't trade it for anything!). But I think it was around high school that I tried it again and absolutely loved it! Thank goodness our taste buds change over time, otherwise my palette would still consist of mac n' cheese, grilled cheese, cheese pizza...basically anything with cheese and carbs.

This black romper (similar here) has been such an easy go-to piece in my wardrobe, especially in the summer when sleeveless and shorts are a must. Another Target win! Oh, and these polka-dot mules are also a Target win--they're really on point right now! I've been finding so many good pieces there that don't break the bank, which makes Freddy a happy camper. I love hunting for good, budget-friendly buys on target.com, so I'm thinking about doing a "how-to" post on what I search for vs. stay away from. Is that something you would be interested in? Let me know in the comments! xo
