Twenty Six

It's funny how time goes by more quickly the older you get. It's hard to believe that I'm already 26 years old, when it seems like just yesterday I celebrated my sweet 16. When the month of September begins, that's usually when I start to reminisce about my life and where God has led me and what He's been teaching me over the years...

When I was in high school, I remember a few different assignments I had where I dreamt about my life and what I would accomplish within the next 10 years. I thought that I would have my career all figured out (which I don't), that I would get married (thankfully I did!) and probably have a house by this point (also a no). I think society paints a picture of how our lives should look by a certain point. You graduate high school, then go on to graduate college and get some amazing job offers, and build your career by working from the ground up. Then maybe you meet someone, get married, buy a house, have kids and the rest is history, right?

Well truthfully, that's not exactly how things panned out for me, but I'm really glad it didn't! Yes, I graduated college, got a job with a company I've been with for the last 5 and a half years, met my amazing, wonderful husband Freddy and we've been married for 3 years now :) You may be thinking, wow, it sure does seem like you have things figured out, but I actually don't. There are more days than not where I feel like I still have no idea what I'm doing with my life, but the fact of the matter is, God does! And that's all I need to know right now. I mean, I can make all the plans in the world about what I think my next career move should be, or when we should buy our first home, or when we should start to have kids, but ultimately my life is in God's hands and there's no other place I would want it to be.

Since moving back to Arizona in February, Freddy and I have been so optimistic about what our future holds. We definitely have big dreams for ourselves, and even though my life may not look exactly like I thought it would as a high schooler, I'm so happy with this moment I'm in right now. And it's okay when the road before you twists and curves unlike how you were expecting it to; we all have our own beautiful, unique stories to tell! From time to time I'll hear one of my favorite quotes in my head, reminding me to be adventurous and not hold back. It's from the movie Tangled, where Rapunzel is at the Ugly Duckling tavern with Flynn Rider and all of the thugs. "Hook thug" says to Rapunzel, "Go. Live your dream." And that's what I'm going to keep on doing :) xoxo

Blushfully,

Belle
